INTO THE FOLDS
Folds, one over another, layers and layers of time, moments and instances, all beautifully decorated with details, a story waiting to be unfolded. Searching through the folds, Diving into them, scavenging interesting narratives, and unfolding them on your screen: this is our mission. Simply, we tell stories.
Into The Folds is a storytelling collective founded by journalist Flavie Halais and video artist Mazi Javidiani over a white beer.
We approach every story differently. We search for characters and characteristics, and bold them. We highlight the interesting pasts. We revive memories. We work with artists, makers, travelers, grandpas and grandmas, benders and bartenders, magicians and those with ambitions. We form a platform for expression of visions. And sometimes we don’t do anything. We just turn on the camera and let them tell us their story (and boy they tell it well.)
We believe in short stories. As short as possible. When Ernest Hemingway wrote the shortest story ever: “Baby shoes: for sale, never worn.” there was no twitter, facebook or SMS texting. Yet he felt a necessity for keeping it short. So do we.
We are in the process of housekeeping our new home (www.intothefolds.com) and producing new material. We leave you with two videos Flavie has done a while ago. Do visit back.
